Handling Toxic and Hazardous Material and Waste in the Workplace

Program Overview

A 2-day Personalized Experiential Learning Program that allows participants to identify, utilize, and understand their responsibility towards statutory regulations and requirements in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), and the causes of accidents in the industry. The Program ensures that participants understand the overview of OSH and learn how accidents occur at the jobsite due to improper toxic and hazardous material management. The program will assist participants in identifying the root causes of incidents and accidents that occur at job sites. Exposure to toxic and hazardous materials can be fatal if not managed properly. This program is relevant for creating awareness among participants and for building organizations with proactive employees, precise teamwork, and an effective and cohesive work environment. The Program creates awareness about the need to handle toxic and hazardous materials effectively and ensure safe methods at the workplace, with compliance to safety and health requirements.

Program Objectives

Upon actively participating in this course, you will be able to:

• Understand your individual responsibility towards Occupational Safety and Health (OSH).
• Frame out an emergency plan for toxic and hazardous materials at the workplace.
• Understand the causation and risk of accidents and incidents at the workplace due to toxic and hazardous materials.
• Learn to manage business risks involving toxic and hazardous materials in your organization.
• Understand the provisions, requirements, and compliance under the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 for handling toxic and hazardous materials (OSH 94).
• Create an effective system for controlling and managing toxic and hazardous materials in your organization.
