Malaysian Labour Laws

Program Objectives

Upon actively participating in this course, you will be able to:

• Be well versed in the various legal aspects of labour laws essential to the day-to-day running of the organization.
• Enable HR practitioners to build plan elements and strategies that are risk-specific.
• Understand the various interpretations of the “controversial” provisions related to employment.
• Interpret Court Awards to understand the impact of labour laws on employers and employees.
• Observe the minimum standards and restrictions, i.e., the obligations and rights of employers and employees.
• Understand the regulations of relationships and the settlement of differences and disputes.
• Learn about Governance, Employee Data Protection, Corporate Separateness, Information on Security, Risk Management, etc.
• Meet legislative and regulatory requirements, including archival of records.
• Find possible solutions to outstanding problems and implement them effectively.

Methodology

To facilitate the understanding of these various laws, a workshop approach will be utilized. The program will be highly interactive, with participation stressed through group and activity learning. This will be achieved through the use of Group Discussions, Case Studies, and Group Learning Interventions to facilitate Experiential Learning. Appropriate video material will also be used to support the learning constructs in this program.
